Windy San Jacinto 1-14-14

Windy San Jacinto 1-14-14, a video I recorded when we had incredible wind in town, which I felt I should document for posterity for whatever reason. We seldom get huge winds out here, the Santa Anas mostly missing us, but occasionally we get terrific gusts.

Zoey and Cousin Christmas 2012

I’ve tried to keep a record of these kids as they grow, so precious and time is so fleeting. I missed this 2012, mostly because they were playing hide and seek and I was not motivated. Anyhow, they had the excitement and good cheer of the holiday season propelling them.

Big Bear Snow 19

Big Bear Snow 19, a picture of my boy Scotty (Happy Birthday, buddy!). We stopped off on the way out of town by the lake to goof in the snow a little bit. This was a couple years ago. He had volunteered to drive me up so he could test his car on the mountain roads, but neither of us expected to run into snow. Here’s he lobs a snowball, considering whether or not to throw it at me. We were both dressed in shorts and t-shirts, not set for the snow at all, but at least he had a hat, lol. I miss that “For Rent” t shirt he had, lol. Last note, we had a delicious pizza cooling off in the car too, couldn’t wait to get to that, so we didn’t play long.

Big Bear Snow 18

Big Bear Snow 18, a view off to the side of the road to hokes being blanketed by fresh snow as we make pour way up Big Bear mountain. We really didn’t expect to hit any snow, but we did find it. For a Southern Californian who lives in the flatlands, it’s a rare treat to be  in the midst of a snow storm. Beauty of Southern California though is you can be in the snow, and an hour later be at the beach, and anything else in between the two.

Big Bear Snow 17

Big Bear Snow 17, a picture of some of the ski operations in Big Bear ramping up for business as a fresh blanket of snow falls. We were passing by a couple years ago not expecting snow. Surprise!

Big Bear Snow 16

Big Bear Snow 16, another as we travel deeper into the snow fall, my boy Scotty and I. I had to return up the hill, having been up there the prior day, which was sunny and warm with zero snow falling or on the ground. Scotty volunteered to drive me up because he wanted to test his car and his mountain driving skills. We did not expect snow at all.
